Etch marks left by juice spills, wine, vinegar, acidic cleaning products, and any other acidic substance can now be removed by you quickly, easily, and with no special tools. Many professionals carry the contents of the Etch Remover ProKit with them at all times to service clients with etching and watermark problems. Instead of handing them a bill for hundreds of dollars worth of honing and polishing, they can quickly and easily remove the etch and watermarks for a minimal charge.

Now you can do it, too! Natural Touch Etch Remover does not require the use of special tools, training, or equipment. Natural Touch Etch Remover is not recommended for use on granite or to remove oil-based or water-based stains. For oil or water-based stains, please see our Poultice Stain Remover product.

Here is a quick test to see if your etches can be removed without hiring a professional:

1. Visually inspect the etch to see if it has eaten away the top layer of the stone.  If it has, the etch will look like a small crater that actually resides below the surface of the undamaged stone.  If the etch has "cratered", you will need a professional (or professional coaching - call us at 866-801-4225) to bring the damaged area to servicable condition.  If not, proceed to Step 2.
   
2. Run your thumbnail (starting from the undamaged edge) across the etched area.  If you feel a "drop off" when passing from the undamaged area to the etch, or if the stone feels rougher in the etched area in comparrison to the undamaged area, you will need a professional (or professional coaching - call us at 866-801-4225) to bring the damaged area to servicable condition.
3. If the area is not "cratered" or rough, you can easily remove the etch yourself using your Etch Remover ProKit.

1. Ensure the etched area is clean, dry, free of any coatings, and does not have any fill missing from the area you will be working on.
   
2. Put on a pair of chemical resistant gloves.
   
3. Start the work in a small, controlled area by spreading a thin coating of water over the etch and surrounding stone. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!
   
4. Apply a small amount of Natural Touch Etch Remover to the wetted area. Do not to get any product on stone that is not wet. 
5. Using small, tight circular motions, work the Natural Touch into surface using a one of the MicroFiber Towels included in your kit.  This MicroFiber towel may be re-used after washing. See Photo 6, below.

7. Polish until the area is almost dry and the appropriate luster is achieved. 
8. Remove any excess residue immediately and rinse the area with water. 
9. Set the nozzle on the bottle of Crystal Clean included in your kit to "SPRAY", and liberally mist all areas that have come into contact with the etch remover slurry. Wipe the area completely clean using one of the MicroFiber towels included in your kit. DO NOT RINSE. The MicroFiber towel may be re-used after washing.
   
10. Repeat as necessary.
11. ProTip: Etch Remover will polish honed or matte stones.  To remove any unwanted polishing, simply wet the polished area and GENTLY work the surface with 800 grit wet sandpaper untill the polished area matches the rest of the stone.
