Clean, Polish, Protect, and Maintain Your Stainless Steel Surfaces - Many of our stone care clients also own stainless steel sinks and appliances, and we've received numerous requests for maintenance recommendations and products that would allow them to restore and protect their stainless steel surfaces. We decided to test a group of polishing compounds to find out which one worked the best, and then create a maintenance kit combining all the products necessary to keep stainless steel in top condition. The end result of our efforts is the Stainless Steel ProKit.

Our selection criteria centered on the following items:

The products had to achieve outstanding results - clear winners in head-to-head comparisons
They had to be easy to use - no tools or training required
They had to be safe and non-toxic for use in food preparation areas
They had to provide good value

As the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words"... So with this in mind, here are the actual un-retouched photographs of a 17 year old stainless steel sink (from a rental property) that we restored using the Stainless Steel Prokit.

The benefits don't end with just restoring the surface. The Stainless Steel ProKit leaves a protective barrier that helps repel water marks, stains, and fingerprinting. It helps protect and extend the life of the newly-restored look, and makes general clean up a snap. The PEEK polishing compound included in the kit is also highly effective on chrome, copper, silver, gold, brass, bronze, aluminum, platinum, pewter, and fiberglass. It will remove tarnish, oxidization, discoloration, water marks, and minor rust stains from all these surfaces. Heavy rust or calcification requires removal prior to polishing.

The Stainless Steel ProKit contains the following items:

1 100 ml Tube of Peek Polishing Compound - The Peek product was the hands-down winner of our test. It is highly effective, easy to use, and USDA approved for use in food preparation areas. It leaves behind a protective barrier on the surface that is further enhanced with the use of Stone Pro Finishing Touch.
1 19 Oz Can of Stone Pro Finishing Touch - Stone Pro Finishing Touch was originally formulated for use on granite and other polished stones, but is also absolutely fantastic on stainless steel. It outperforms all other products in its category for routine cleaning and enhancement of stainless steel surfaces, with the added benefit of providing outstanding results on polished stone and glass.
5 16"x16" Commercial Grade MicroFiber Towels - MicroFiber towels clean and polish better than any other woven material. Their unique construction compliments polishing with Peek and routine cleaning with Stone Pro Finishing Touch, and they will not scratch even the most delicate surfaces.

JOHN'S NOTE: While the Stainless Steel ProKit will remove water spots and light calcification from stainless steel surfaces, heavy calcification deposits on-and-around fixtures and sink rails must be removed prior to polishing. This can be safely accomplished using the Mineral Shock product listed as an accessory on the right side of this page. Mineral Shock is safe for use on stainless steel and granite, but CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO COME INTO CONTACT WITH TRAVERTINE, LIMESTONE, OR MARBLE!

Peek Stainless cleaner	January 10, 2008

Not being the DYI type I deceided to try this product WOW... My sink looked really bad before and was only 1 year old. Peek works really well and the water repellency is outstanding. The Finishing touch is good to use once a day to keep the polish up. I currently use the GranQuartz 113 on my granite, MyStone Care is a great company, 5 stars across the board!
