Here is a quick test to see if your etches can be removed without hiring a professional:

Visually inspect the etch to see if it has eaten away the top layer of the stone. If it has, the etch will look like a small crater that actually resides below the surface of the undamaged stone. If the etch has "cratered", you will need a professional (or professional coaching - call us at 866-801-4225) to bring the damaged area to servicable condition. If not, proceed to Step 2.
Run your thumbnail (starting from the undamaged edge) across the etched area. If you feel a "drop off" when passing from the undamaged area to the etch, or if the stone feels rougher in the etched area in comparrison to the undamaged area, you will need a professional (or professional coaching - call us at 866-801-4225) to bring the damaged area to servicable condition.
If the area is not "cratered" or rough, you can easily remove the etch yourself using your Etch Remover ProKit.

Better Than Advertised

I have Rojo Alacante and Crema Marfil marble in my shower that was etched when a cleaning person used an acid tile cleaner on the stone. I tried a couple of other etch remover products, but was not able to get much of a result. I saw this product on the Internet and decided to give it a try based on the other reviews. My marble now looks like new. This product actually works better than they say it does, and the technical support was first class. John gave me the tip of using 00 steel wool on some of the worse areas, and it worked like a charm. The steel wool was more effective on the Crema Marfil than it was on the Rojo. The Rojo polished up easier with the microfiber supplied in the kit. Using this product takes some effort, but the results are well worth it. I saved hundreds of dollars over the cost of quotes I received from local professionals. FIVE STARS across the board. After I did all the etch removal work, I sealed the stone with GranQuartz 314P. I've used several sealers on my stone over the years, but nothing that ever performed like this one does. I'm also giving it a 5 star review in its own area.

Amazing

This product is amazing! We recently purchased a house with marble counters, vanities, and floors that had some damage. The counters and vanities were etched and had rings from glasses and bottles. Some of them were pretty bad. The floors had etches in several areas.I spoke with John at My Stone Care and he recommended the Etch Remover ProKit with 00 steel wool for the worst areas. It took some work, but I was able to completely restore all the damaged areas to perfect condition. If you follow the directions exactly as they are written, and don't mind putting in the effort, this product will deliver amazing results.

Etch Remover

Takes a little elbow grease but takes out etching and waterspots well on polished marble. Rub a slurry of water and etch remover over etch with a damp towel until dry, repeat until etching disappears.

Saved marriage and floors!

I was tasked with cleaning the grout lines in our marble floor in the master bathroom. Since I did not want to hurt the floor I googled natural products to use and came across a 2 part water 1 part vinegar solution to use. Yup you guessed it, I ruined my polished marble floors with the vinegar. They were stained alone every grout line, the end of the world seemed very near! I went online to find a product that could help and I came across this one. I just finished the job and the floors came out beautiful! Yeah it took a little work, ( I went and bought a cheap polisher because I had a whole floor to do) but the end result is fantastic! I recommend this product to anyone that has any blemish or water stain looking marble!!!

Had to write this review

This product is amazing. I usually don't write reviews, but this product worked so well and saved me so much money that I had to say something about it. I have polished limestone counters and they etch. Each time I call a professional in to remove the etches it's a $1,000.00 expense and a full day with people in my house. Someone cut an orange up directly on my countertop and etched it everywhere the juice came in contact. I had a few other etches, so I was getting ready to call my stone company in (again) to perform the service when I saw an ad for this product. I figured it was worth trying, and I am really glad I did! The instructions that came in the box were very detailed and made the product easy to use. Follow them exactly and you can't go wrong. It does take some work, but the results are well worth the effort. There is a night and day difference in my countertop and I couldn't be happier with the results. All the etches are gone and it looks as good as it did after the professionals last came in. I saved $1,000.00 and have enough product left over to handle future accidents.

Fantastic Products and Support

I would like to give your products and telephone help a 5 star rating. I bought Travertine for my 14 sq ' bathroom and the person who installed it didn't know that the Travertine should be sealed before it was grouted. In short, I had dark brown grout staining my light colored tiles and etch marks where he tried to clean it with muric acid. I knew that I would have to clean it myself, but I knew very little about tile and nothing about Travertine. Your telephone help walked me through the steps I would need to restore the tile and your products, Travertine Filler Kit and Etch Remover ProKit for Marble, Travertine, & Limestone, were the key to the good job I got. What a Blessing!

An unhappy HVAC contractor asked to use our newly renovated powder room and urinated on our carrara marble floor. He chose to hit a narrow area between the commode and the wall so the damage was not discovered until hours later when I got home from work. Today, I finally got up the courage to try the Etch Remover. The instructions were clear and the results were amazing. There was one very tiny spot (smaller than a dime) which required a second attempt. I may have neglected to give it the buffing it needed since it was a droplet separate from the main puddle. Success! We are so grateful this product performs as promised. I must also commend the Customer Service Rep. I believe his name is John. His willingness to educate me at length was much appreciated.

Incredible

I'm knocked out... Our marble vanity was damaged when we used the wrong cleaner on it. It had lost its shine and you could see wipe marks left by the sponge where the cleaner was wiped around. We thought we would need to have the stone professionally refinished, which is very expensive. I was looking on the internet and came across this product. It was highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! All the dullness and wipe marks are gone, and our vanity looks just like new again.

Amazing Product!

I just want to thank you for your amazing product, Etch Remover ProKit for Marble, Travertine, & Limestone. I dropped an almost full bottle of red wine vinegar on our beautiful 1-year old travertine floor. I knew enough to hurry and blot up the vinegar and worry about the broken glass later, but the area of etching was immense. Thankfully though, the vinegar did not have time to eat away at the tile and cause cratering. After visiting and/or calling numerous tile places here in Arizona, I realized that the repair could end up costing a small fortune. Then I decided to do some research online and I found your company. I read about your product and I read all of the reviews from very happy customers, including one from my neck of the woods here in Scottsdale. So I called you to ask a few more questions and decided that I had nothing to lose, the floor was a mess. And I knew that my backup plan would be calling the professionals and having them come fix it if your product did not work. Well ---- it worked beautifully! My husband and I could not be happier and we are tough birds to please. It works. I suggest using the included steel wool

I was skeptical, but for the cost I thought I'd try it. (My kids had been playing with toilet bowl cleaner and etched the marble on their bathroom counter top). It turned out really well, especially after using the product with the included steel wool. The etching on our marble wasn't rough, and I did notice that it slightly improved with using just a cloth to scrub it, but after I tried the steel wool it really improved. None of the etching is visible anymore. The only downside for me is that after I fixed the bad spots last night, my wife commented that the repair spots look better (more polished) than the rest of it, so i have to polish all of it with the product....

Etch removed

Tried the etch removal kit and wes very pleasntly suprised how well it worked. I had an etch streak 3 to 4 inches wide by 2 feet long form where my neighbors dog uraniated on my marble hall way entrance floor. After 3 to 4 applications with the etch remover all the damaged area was repaired and did not have to replaced the damaged marble as orginally planed. Thanks to the etch remover it saved me a lot of unnessary work in only about 1 hour.

Works Like a Champ

We have quite a bit of damage from normal household cleaners that caused a dulling effect on our travertine in our bathroom. You could see the splotches where the cleaner had been sprayed very easily. Looked long and hard for something that could repair it without getting it honed professionally and gave this stuff a try after talking to John. It works great, the tiles look like new with minimal effort. Follow the directions they give you closely to have the best results. If your doing it by hand, It seems best to do little areas at once in order to have a consistent appearance over the area that it is applied. So, if you have alot of damage areas or a big area of damage like we do it will take some time, but well worth it. Also used it on some drink glass marks downstairs on our travertine floor and it got rid of that as well. Good good stuff!

Excellent

Travertine floors are beautiful, but caring for them can be a pain. It is almost impossible to avoid spilling liquids that etch the surface, especially if you have kids, or if you have the travertine in your kitchen. With this product, you can easily re-polish etched spots. Now I don't have to freak out every time something spills! Just follow the directions carefully and it works great.

I can’t thank you enough for helping me repair my Travertine shower! Our remodel was only 4 months old when I used an acid based cleaner on my shower and hopelessly etched the stone. Every specialist I called said I would have to have a professional replace the stone or refinish it, then I saw your product and thought I couldn’t lose at least trying it. John walked me through every detail of the process over the phone to ensure success and that combined with a little elbow grease restored my stone to as good as new! Amazing!!!!!

While cleaning the bathroom, my house keeper didn't realized she dripped water all over my beautiful white marble floor. The water dried and left water marks on every marble tile. Professionals were giving quotes of $800. to $1000. to remove all the water stains. After much research on the internet I found the Etch Remover on your website and given all the positive reviews, I decided to give it a try before calling in the professionals and pay hundreds of dollars. Removes 85% Etch, Polishes

I accidentally spilled some household vinegar onto our bathroom marble countertop. I immediately rinsed off what I could but alas a huge area was etched. I bought this and my husband and I did the Mr. Miyagi for a combined 30 minutes. Some improvement, but I could still feel the 'texture' of the etch. I then used extra fine steel wool with handheld sander as John suggested. The 'texture' still remains, although the surface is now very, very shiny, which I don't mind as I was going to polish the entire top anyway with another one of John's products. I suppose it's better than the dull reflection of the etching. Just wished it did more to remove the texture so that it's a completely smooth polish. I also appreciate the tip on using steel wool with hand sander as I'm not exactly looking to train my arms like the karate kid.

Great Product!

Etch Remover ProKit & Engineered Wax

I just completed using the Etch Remover ProKit and Engineered Wax on a 40x 80 marble dinning table that is 22 years old. The results are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, even when using 500 watt inspection light. These products work!
