Stone Pro Wet Poultice Stain Remover

I chose this over the Lithofin Oil-X because the Oil-X is for transparent oil stains and with a bustling households I could see colored organic stains seeping into the granite. My kitchen granite is a cream base with streaks of brick red and clusters of light beige crystals. I applied as directed. Laid on a thick layer on the stain, covered with a plastic and taped off the area. took off the plastic after 24 hours and let the compound dry. scraped off the dried compound after 24 hours. directions say wait up to 72 hours for the area to dry before reapplying. This means it can take about a week just for one application. After the first application I noticed that the area was still 'darker' than the surrounding, but I could tell some grease stain had faded. Grease stain makes the granite darker and hazier. The area was dark but the colors looked less hazy. In the end it took 3 applications -- almost three weeks -- before I decided to pause further destaining efforts because I was wondering if this compound was also staining the granite a different color. The cream base turned greenish, the beige crystals are green-grey, and there's this greenish haze over the brick red streaks. Either the stuff stains the otherwise transparent crystals in the granite, or it is drying very, very slowly. It's been two weeks since I scraped off the third application of the compound and I 'think' (maybe wishful thinking) that the cream base is becoming more cream colored and the red streaks have brightened. the beige crystals are still green-grey. So this stuff works (I think), Just know that it may take you weeks to destain, and you run the risk of staining the granite (at worst) and having to wait a long, long time for the stuff to dry (at best). I think for this stain I should have gone with the Lithofin Oil-X just because it seems to be faster.

Stay away. This stuff damaged our countertop and Stone Pro's technical support was useless in resolving the issue. It left tiny white spider veins in the granite. I first worked with John from My Stone Care on getting this out: We used Stone Pro's own line of scrubbing solution, their cleaning solution, another professional granite cleaner, Dawn dish soap, hydrogen peroxide...all to no avail. I then called Stone Pro (the manufacturer) several times and left voicemails. No one returned my call. One time someone did pick up, but it sounded like he was on his cell and getting into/out of his car. I called back but got vm again. I then asked My Stone Care to get in touch with Stone Pro on my behalf. They did, and a guy whom I will call M and I emailed and talked. Bottom line is, M says the veins are the result of their product working 'too well'. The reason I'm not seeing the white veins on other parts of the counter is because the other areas are dirty. Ok, the counter did NOT have this apparent veining at installation. I took pictures in part to have a record in case something goes amiss with the granite installer. Furthermore, if M's theory is correct, then there would be visible veining on the counter sitting under areas that do not get used so much, eg, under a marble bread basket. Nope, no apparent veining under those objects. And even if there weren't objects on the countertop, because some parts of the countertop gets used more heavily than others, I'd expect to see apparent veining on parts of the counter that just don't get used often because those parts would be 'cleaner'. M couldn't explain those, but he holds to his conclusion that the non-veined parts of the counter are simply 'dirty.' If I don't want to see veining then I should just continue using the 'cleaned part' until it gets 'dirty' again. So...his product damages the countertop, he takes zero responsibility for the damage his product has done, he does nothing to help solve the situation, he acknowledges the difficulty in his theory, yet he still holds onto his theory. John from My Stone Care was nowhere this arrogant, and went the extra mile trying to help me resolve the problem. If this M guy is representative of Stone Pro, then it is defensive, has zero integrity, and definitely not a problem solver. Use something else. (p.s. the Lithofin Oil-Ex, although pricey, is way more worth it than this joke of a putty. Takes 24 hours and done; quick and no weird veining.

This product is truly a miracle. I had a really bad oil stain on my marble counter top, and tried everything under the sun to get it out. Nothing worked until My Stone Care recommended this product. I just followed the directions on the can and completely removed the stain in one shot.
